Modern Farmhouse Kitchen
This modern farmhouse kitchen needed to be ultra functional and aesthetically pleasing for a creative cook and avid baker.
The open-concept design and crisp white kitchen are significant departures from the previous design—and this was exactly the goal. The warmth and texture of wood and brushed gold accents help to soften the possible starkness of white and create a modern farmhouse aesthetic. The large island with bar stool seating is a natural gathering place for a busy family. ​​​
​Prior to this transformation, a central, wood-burning fireplace and second staircase to the basement contributed to closed off and cramped spaces. The removal of these features was the starting point for this remodel, which resulted in an open, cohesive space with a brighter, larger and more functional kitchen.​​
Creating an eye-catching focal point was essential in the open concept design. The symmetrical range wall, island placement and pendant lighting achieved this goal effortlessly. The addition of a much-needed mudroom off the kitchen and a relocated entrance added further functionality to the space and easy access to the basement.
