At McCarthy Design Studio, we work with homeowners and design and construction professionals on a range of projects including custom new builds, large scale renovations, kitchen and bathroom design, and individual rooms.

We offer the following design services:

Comprehensive Design

Ideally, we get involved early in the process so we can ensure all your design goals are reflected in the overall design and construction of the space. This also allows for collaboration and relationship building with the entire team of architects, designers, builders, trades, and of course you, the client, to ensure the result is your dream come true!

Our comprehensive design process involves these three phases:

Assessment Phase:

In this phase we learn about your lifestyle, design needs, goals, and dreams. We also assess the current space as required for renovations and additions. The project scope of work is then created based on this assessment.

Design Development Phase:

This is where the magic happens and creativity flows. In this phase we develop design concepts and produce interior design and architectural drawings. We also create mood and sample boards that reflect your unique design goals and dreams.

Implementation Phase:

Lastly, the design is implemented by way of construction, product procurement, and installation. Job site visits and design management ensure your design goals are realized.

Design Consultation

We all need a little help sometimes. If you are feeling stuck in your home design or redesign, and have some design dilemmas you would like professional advice about, we are here for you and happy to help.

This service can take place in person, at your home, or online, as required, and can take as little as a few hours, depending on the need.

Examples of what can be covered in a solution-focused consultation include:

Review existing design and architectural drawings and provide a second opinion.
Develop space plans, room layouts, and functional furniture placement.
Provide kitchen and bathroom design recommendations.
Recommend fixtures, finishes, and materials.
Deliver healthy and sustainable interior solutions.

Design Collaboration

As a design or construction professional, you may require assistance with certain aspects of a project. At McCarthy Design Studio, we are happy to help our fellow trade partners including design-build firms, architects, interior designers, builders, contractors, and cabinetmakers.

This service can take place at your office, at your client’s home, or online as required.
